Eric Yves Garcia and The Eric Yves Garcia Trio is playing Bemelman’s Bar at The Hotel Carlyle.  He was asked to put together the trio and appear the first Sunday night in February. This followed the New York Times review of his current show, One Night Standards.  After the first Sunday his engagement at Bemelmans was extended for every Sunday night in February.  Eric’s trio consists of himself, Ritt Henn on bass and Nick Russo on guitar.  Eric uses these musicians in his current show at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Eric is a consummate performer.  He plays with an air of sophistication that is not hampered by a feeling of the past.  He is today as he plays and sings material from the Great American Song Book and beyond.

I suppose the best thing that I can say for this poised and dedicated performer is his understanding of the necessary blending between lyrics and music.  He appears to cherish their union and allows them to wing their way into the hearts of his audience.  Seeing him in a trio setting was inspiring as he allowed his trio compatriots to share in their own moments of well-deserved glory.

It’s a great evening.  There is another Sunday engagement, February 23rd.   Make it a point to go to Bemelman’s Bar at The Carlyle and experience Eric Yves Garcia and The Eric Yves Garcia Trio.
