Over the past 10 years, Il Divo has risen to the kind of global stardom few musical groups can dream of, having sold over 26 million albums worldwide and received 160 gold and platinum sales awards in more than 30 countries. Now, New Yorkers have a rare chance to see this extraordinary quartet – consisting of international heartthrobs David Miller, Carlos Marin, Sebastien Izambard, and Urs Buhler – in a special Broadway show entitled “A Musical Affair,” to run November 7-13 at the Marquis Theater.

“Bringing a show to New York City to play at the Marquis is going to be like no other Il Divo experience,” says Miller, who starred on Broadway as Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann’s celebrated production of “La Boheme.”  “We will have the spirit of innumerable legendary performances all around us. I can’t wait.”

This special engagement coincides with the group’s spectacular new CD, “A Musical Affair: Broadway and Beyond,” a selection of unforgettable tunes from the Great White Way, that will be released on Tuesday, November 5 on Syco/Columbia Records . As a special bonus, Tony winner Heather Headley (“Aida”) – one of many celebrities featured on the album – will join the men for their engagement at the Marquis.

In addition to Headley’s cut on the CD — on Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” — the new recording features duets with such superstars as Barbra Streisand (“The Music of the Night”), Kristin Chenoweth (“All I Ask of You”), Michael Ball (“Love Changes Everything”), and Nicole Scherzinger (“Memory”), along with renditions of “Bring Him Home,” “Tonight,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “If Ever I Would Leave You.”

“We’ve managed to create a version of these songs that are different from the originals,” says Buhler. “I hope we’ve done these great songs justice.”
