Inside Broadway’s Executive Director Michael Presser is pleased to announce that on Thursday, December 5, the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) will be visited by thousands of NYC public school students as the Great White Way’s leading arts education non-profit partners with the Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella to offer two exclusive Creating the Magic events taking place at 10:45am and 1:15pm.

 

The programs are being presented for free to over 2,500 New York City public school students as they get a behind the scenes look at the magical world of Broadway and learn about all the career opportunities in the theater including special presentations from cast and crew members including members from unions Actors Equity AssociationLocal One/IATSE(the premier stagehand union) and Local 802AFM/Associated Musicians of Greater New York (one of the largest local unions of professional musicians in the world).

 

On December 5, these thrilling, interactive and completely free ‘Creating the Magic’ programs will fill the Broadway Theatre with over 2,500 New York City public school students that participate in Inside Broadway’s programs (this will be many of the students’ first time visiting a Broadway theatre). From exciting set, lighting and sound demonstrations to musical performances from the cast and a Q&A session, attendees will get a special behind the scenes look at the world of Broadway with members of the Cinderella cast and crew all taking part, making for an unforgettable Broadway experience.
