Honorees Greg Louganis and Pete Nowalk; Performances by Billy Gilman, Lena Hall and the cast of Broadway’s “Bright Star;” along with Laith Ashley, Erich Bergen, Michelle Collins, Mallory Hagan (Miss America 2013), Jack Falahee, Gus Kenworthy, Julie Klausner, Miguel Marquez, Conrad Ricamora and more were honored last night at the New York Public Library.  Theater Pizzazz was on the scene to record the event with photos.

 

The Point Honors gala recognizes individuals who have demonstrated leadership and courage and stand as role models for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer young people. The Point Legend Award – to be presented to Greg Louganis – recognizes an individual who has achieved greatness in their professional career and unapologetically supported the LGBTQ community. The Point Leadership Award – to be presented to Pete Nowalk – goes to an individual who has achieved prominence in their professional career and unequivocally supports the LGBTQ community. Point Foundation, the nation’s largest scholarship-granting organization for LGBTQ students of merit, has used the grand setting of the New York Public Library in recent years to present awards to Lena Dunham, Neal Baer, Jonathan Groff, and Jeffrey Tambor.
