The gorgeous, tall, slim showgirl who loved and was loved by so many passed on September 30, 2015 – Edith Bermaine Drake – always at the side of her beloved husband, songwriter Ervin Drake, who left us on January 15, 2015. They were a stunning pair, inseparable, out every night at cabaret, theater, gala events, at the NY Sheet Music Society (now American Popular Song Society – APSS), the Dutch Treat Club, holding hands and in love till the very end.

Their love story is known by many who revel in its beauty.  It was a lifetime romance of two lovers who, after marrying others and having families, came back together again to finally spend the remainder of their lives with each other. They brought so much joy to one another and to all of us who had the privilege to share their world.

To say they are missed, is an understatement. Thank you Edith for the glamour you sprinkled everywhere,Thank you Ervin . . . It Was a Very Good Year and, I’m sure, a wonderful life. May you both rest in peace in an eternity of love.

My thanks to several who helped me in my effort to create this photo montage by sending me so many pictures: Rose Billings, Maryann Lopinto, Lynn DiMenna.
