“Sometime Child: a Reclamation and a Redemption,” a new play by Richard Bruce, directed by Eric Oleson.  Performances are February 10 to 20 at Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave.  The playing schedule is Thursdays through Saturdays at 8:00 PM plus matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 PM.  The running time is 1:50 plus In the play, a successful lawyer is mugged by two young, troubled but gifted “at risk” youths. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) announces updates to the next season’s Fall/Winter programming Off-Broadway.   The Wanderers, by Anna Ziegler, directed by Barry Edelstein will start performances on January 26, 2023 at the Laura Pels Theater in the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).  This production was originally scheduled for 2020 and postponed due to the shutdown. 

 The world premiere of the bandaged place by Harrison David Rivers and directed by David Mendizábal, will open the Roundabout Underground Season.  Performances begin October 20, 2022. www.roundabouttheatre.org

The York Theatre Company presents an upcoming developmental invite-only reading Twist of Fate, with Sophia Anne Caruso, Lena Hall and more Broadway alums. The musical with book and lyrics by Lissa Levin and music by Ron Abel will be presented Feb. 4th. The score is is influenced by flamenco and pop and is inspired by a real life first amendment case that follows a fortune teller arrested in 1970s L.A. who tries to win the respect of her teenage daughter by fighting the law instead of running from it. Bill Castellino directs the cast also featuring David Baida, Jake Boyd, Allyson Kaye Daniel, Jillian Louis and Ryan Silverman.
