The critically acclaimed play Boys Don’t Wear Lipstick will celebrate its 20th anniversary by performing a benefit reading. Playwright Brian Belovitch dazzled the New York 80’s club scene as Tish Gervais, The Girl With Something Extra and The Bombshell of Rock Roll.

Originally presented in 2000, the play was a 2000 GLAAD Media Awards nominee for Outstanding Broadway/Off- Broadway Production – is a journey from boyhood to manhood – by way of a 15-year detour through womanhood.

Proceeds from the reading will benefit both Emerging Artists Theatre (EAT) which produces a bi-annual New Work Series where artists of all disciplines can workshop their work and Lorde Community Health Center which provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities, regardless of ability to pay. Additional information about the two charities:  https://www.emergingartiststheatre.org/ and https://callen-lorde.org/
