The fearless illustrator-artist Joan Chiverton, hearing that Brian Stokes Mitchell appears on his balcony on the Westside of Manhattan nightly to sing for the healthcare workers after all the clapping and honking ends, made her way uptown to record the moment. What a treat to listen to his glorious voice singing “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha!  Stokes recently recovered from his own battle with coronavirus and from what I’m told, is in great voice.

Joan Chiverton has been drawing/sketching people in music for many years and has a long list of clients that reads like a Who’s Who. She also teaches at FIT (Institute of Technology) and lucky for Theater Pizzazz, has provided many sketches of some of the great performers who have made their way to the Feinstein’s/54 Below stage.
