BROADWAY BLESSING is a service of song, dance, and story designed to seek God’s grace on the new theater season. This year’s FREE event will be a celebration of the 20th anniversary and will be held on Monday, September 18th at 7pm at St. Malachy’s-The Actors Chapel located at 239 West 49th Street (between Broadway and 8th Avenue).
Featuring the Broadway Blessing Choir and Project Dance, the program will also include David Beach (Something Rotten, Mama Mia and Urinetown), and a Q&A with Catherine Russell (in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most performances in the same show – she’s been appearing in The Perfect Crime since it started 30 years ago).
Fr. George Drance, Artistic Director of Magis Theatre Company, will perform a short piece from his show, Mark, and will also serve as emcee for the evening. He will also participate in the candlelight ceremony along with Fr. John Fraser, interim Pastor of St. Malachy’s-The Actors Chapel and Rabbi Jill Hausman from the Actors Temple. The audience will be invited to participate in a sing-a-long to close the show and to the reception that will follow.  All are welcome.
