The buzz is on for theatre fans to be a part of the biggest day of the year as BC/EFA (Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS) goes into its 27th Annual Broadway Flea Market & Auction.  It’s a BIG celebration of theatre on September 22, 2013 where you can unearth showbiz treasures, bid on backstage experiences and meet some of your favorite cast members.

FREE to the public – the outdoor market runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Shubert Alley (West 44th Street – bet. Broadway/8th Ave).

Here are some of the things you can anticipate:

Walk-on appearances in Broadway’s biggest hits; lunches with Tony Award winners; Elphaba’s broom in Wicked and even the shirt off Tom Hanks’ back. There’ll be dozens of unique auction items that are available now for pre-bidding at, including:

  • Walk-on roles and backstage experiences at ChicagoCinderella, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, Mamma Mia!,  Once, The Phantom of the Opera and Rock of Ages with more to be announced.
  • A T-shirt worn onstage and autographed by Tom Hanks during his acclaimed run of Lucky Guy on Broadway.

Silent auction lots will be opened every half hour from 10 AM until 3:30 PM; the live auction begins at 5 PM. Pre-bidding on silent and live auction lots is available online now through 10 AM ET on September 21, the day before the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction.

More than 50 tables full of Broadway memorabilia, trinkets, Playbills and one-of-a-kind treasures will line West 44th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue.
