Scott Coulter & Friends in “Rock ’n Radio: Music’s Biggest Hits” on Wednesday, March 2nd, 7pm at Feinstein’s/54Below. This new concert event features members of producer Coulter’s regular roster of Broadway/cabaret superstars performing thrilling takes on the biggest songs in music history. In addition to usual standouts from the Spot-On Entertainment family, “Rock ’N Radio” welcomes Kimber Elayne Sprawl (“The Girl From the North Country”), Anthony Murphy (“Diana”) and Max Chernin (“Bright Star”) to the fold. Sprawl, Murphy, and Chernin will be joined by Carole J. Bufford, Alex Getlin, Jessica Hendy, Lorinda Lisitza, Kelli Rabke, Austin Rivers, and Lexie Dorsett Sharp with musical direction by Michael Holland. Stephanie Trudeau’s update of her cabaret musical, “Becoming Chavela,” (postponed from Dec. 30) will take the stage at Don’t Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street, Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 PM. with Ben Lapidus on guitar and percussion. The show is an homage to Chavela Vargas, the famed Mexican Ranchera singer, and is a 2020 Bistro Award winner for Outstanding Tribute Show. The show is directed by Tanya Moberly. Written and performed by Ms. Trudeau, the piece is more than just a musical cabaret; it is also a documentary theater project that traces Chavela’s artistic evolution and her relationships with her musical mentor Jose Alfredo Jimenez (the world’s greatest composer of ranchera songs), the painters Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, the great Cuban courtesan Macorina, and producer Pedro Almodovar, who enabled Chavela’s comeback at age 72 after a 15 year battle with alcoholism.  Tickets HERE
