Charles Busch will receive the Provincetown American Playwright Award (PAPA) this year in a virtual presentation on August 15th at 5:30 pm. He is the third person to receive this award which will be presented to him by Paul Vogel, last year’s award winner. The first award was presented to Terrence McNally in 2018. Busch received a 2001 Tony nomination for his play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. His other credits include: Psycho Beach Party, The Divine Sister, Die Mommie Die, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom and so much more.
The virtual award ceremony will be attended by Julie Halston, Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Alison Fraser, Taylor Mac and many more.
