The world will surely miss Fyvush Finkel, star of stage and screen, who passed away today at the age of 93 years of age. Many remember him on television as the cantankerous lawyer in the 1990’s series “Picket Fences.”
He was in show business for 80 years beginning his career on Second Avenue in Yiddish Theater. It seemed like yesterday, when Drama Desk nominee of Fyvush Finkel LIVE! appeared at the Metropolitan Room with his talented sons Ian and Elliot. It was actually March 7, 2016 as the self-dubbed Jewish Trapp Family took the audience on an extraordinary musical journey. Always with a joke and a smile, Fyvush will be remembered and very much missed.
Funeral services will take place this Wednesday, August 17 at 12 noon at the Sutton Place Synagogue,225 East 51 Street NYC. (Between 2 & 3 Ave).
