Harvey Evans was an actor, dancer and singer. He died at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ on Christmas Eve. at the age of 80. He appeared in the original Broadway productions of such classics as West Side Story, Follies, Hello, Dolly! and Gypsy. Although he wasn’t cast as a leading man, he found himself playing opposite such icons as Angela Lansbury in Anyone Can Whistle and played Barnaby in Hello, Dolly! opposite Carol Channing, then Betty Grable and Eve Arden.

In the 90s he was seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard and The Scarlett Pimpernel. He was in the original Broadway West Side Story and in the film version in 1961.

Harvey Evans always had a big smile on his face and meeting him was like a big hug. He will be missed by many. RIP
