Legendary comic, actor, writer, producer (the man who did it all) Carl Reiner has died at the age of 98 in his home in Beverly Hills on Monday night from natural causes. He’s best known for creating and starring in TV’s The Dick Van Dyke Show.

He grew up in New York, the son of Jewish immigrants. His father a watchmaker, led to Reiner’s job as a sewing machine repairman working alongside his brother. His brother was responsible for Reiner’s move into show business receiving his big break when he landed in Your Show of Shows comedy skits written by Mel Brooks and Neil Simon. Reiner and Brooks partnered to create the Steve Allen Show and the rest is history. An amazing history that continued to the very end with Reiner maintaining his twitter account.  You’ll be sorely missed Carl Reiner! RIP
