Inner Voices, the biannual series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers, is in previews at The TBG Theatre (312 West 36th Street – between 8th & 9th Avenues) and will open Saturday, October 11, 2014.

The evenings will consist of the following two solo works:

Grace, a haunting and soulful tale about brilliant, arrogant, award-winning novelist, Grace Monroe (portrayed by Andrea Frierson), as she faces the most devastating challenge of her life, forcing her to reassess her past, present and future. Libretto by award-winning actress and playwright Charlayne Woodard and score by Kirsten Childs. Music Director is Rona Siddiqui. Directed by Shirley Jo Finney.

The Other Room is a moving and often humorous solo piece celebrating the power of friendship and political engagement in the midst of the AIDS crisis in New York. Lena (portrayed by Phoebe Strole) reflects on her profound love for her friend Steve at a critical point in their relationship when he becomes seriously ill. Libretto by Mark Campbell and score by Marisa Michelson. Music Director is Ian Axness. Directed by Ethan Heard.

The design team is comprised of Reid Thompson (sets, costumes, props), Oliver Wason (lights), and Jacob Subotnick (sound), Nick Hussong (projections) and Jon Carter (wigs).
