The VI Cherry Orchard Festival of the Arts returns to New York City and with it Russia’s State Theatre of Nations production of Chekhov’s Ivanov, starring Evgeny Mironov, Chulpan Khamatova and Elizaveta Boyarskaya.

The production is directed by Timofey Kulyabin and will play at New York City Center (131 West 55 Street) June 14 thru 17 only.

Premiered in Moscow in 2016, the production was nominated for the prestigious Golden Mask National Theatre Award (similar to the Tonys) in multiple categories. It will be performed in Russian with English supertitles.

It’s a daring take on Ivanov illuminating Chekhov’s keen observation and comedic eye for social detail and the drama of human contradiction.
