Judi Mark

On Sept 17, 2019 Judi Mark brought her one woman show “Laughing Through Life” to  Don’t Tell Mama in New York City with Jeffrey Klitz on piano.
Born in Chicago to a musical family and encouraged to express herself creatively, Ms. Mark would make her family proud as she has years of experience as an entertainer in some of New York’s most prestigious rooms. In this show she shares many funny show biz ups and downs of her journey.
With a strong opening of Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn’s “Come Dance With Me,” she shows off her playful side wearing a colorful headdress singing a “Carmen Miranda Medley,” and a sultry side with Antonio Carlos Jobim and Gene Lees’ “Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars.”
In between songs, she recalls some of the funny characters she had encountered while building her career, such as an amusing story meeting and working with comedian Jackie Mason who had more personal interest in her.
After many years, she later became a dance educator and is credited with creating high school sequential dance programs at Sheepshead Bay High School.
At the conclusion of the show, Ms. Mark paid  tribute to her late musical director Hubert “Tex” Arnold.
You can catch Judi Mark at Don’t Tell Mama on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 7pm
