Mansions of the Gilded Age

The Secret Splendors of New York’s Gilded Age will be on full display on Wednesday, September 30, 5:30 – 7 pm as part of the New York Adventure Club. Join now for a digital exploration of magnificent mansions that once lined NYC’s Fifth Avenue and learn about the coveted social events inside.

Led by historian Gary Lawrance, you’ll visit the houses of Mrs. Astor, from her plain brownstone on 34^th St. to future marble palace on 65^th Street; William K. Vanderbilt house at 52^nd Street; Cornelius Vanderbilt II’s block-long mansion on 57^th Street, with French paneled ballroom overlooking the Plaza Hotel and other exquisite architectural wonders.
