Stars! Stars! Stars! The 2015 Tony Award Nominees Press Junket was held at the Paramount Hotel on Wednesday, April 29 and it brought out some of the brightest theatrical luminaries from the past season, including Kristin Chenoweth, Bradley Cooper, Helen Mirren, and Sting, all of whom are competing for Broadway’s biggest prize on Sunday, June 7 at Radio City Music Hall.
But it was also a moment to shine for all of this year’s nominees, including past acting winners and lesser-known actors, as well as a slew of talented playwrights, directors, producers, and designers.
Theater Pizzazz was fortunate to speak with approximately 20 of this year’s nominees, including actors Geneva Carr, Judy Kuhn, Lydia Leonard, Micah Stock, Brandon Uranowitz, and Julie White, playwrights Ayad Akhtar, Terrence McNally, Lisa Kron and Rob Askins, directors Bartlett Sher and Scott Ellis, designer David Rockwell, and Lifetime Achievement Award winner (and now 10-time Tony Award winner) Tommy Tune, among others.
Take a peek; have a listen, and let’s wish them all the best of luck! www.TonyAwards.com Sun. June 7, 2015
