The Broadway Education Alliance is pleased to announce that Jaquel Spivey, Tony® and Grammy® Award-nominated artist for his role in A Strange Loop, will co-host the 2022-23 Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance. The ceremony will be held at the Professional Performing Arts School (328 West 48th Street) on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 4:00 pm. The event is sponsored by Disney Theatrical Group and the Tony® Award-nominated production, Kimberly Akimbo. It features two musical production numbers featuring the 54 Roger Rees Awards nominees and 12 solo performances by award finalists. Tickets are currently on sale at rogerreesawards.com.


Love + Science, a new play by scientist and writer David J. Glass, announces the cast and creative team for its May 26–July 6, 2023, premiere at New York City Center Stage II (131 W 55th St, Manhattan). Directed by Allen MacLeodLove + Science centers on two gay medical students who must navigate their love, careers, and loyalties at the height of the 1980s HIV/AIDS crisis. Jonathan Burke (The InheritanceChoir Boy) and Lortel-nominee Matt Walker (The Play That Goes Wrong) lead an ensemble of seven that includes Thursday Farrar (AidaParadeOnce Upon a Mattress), Adrian Greensmith (Netflix’s Metal Lords), Ryan Knowles (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical), Tally Sessions (CompanyAnastasiaWar Paint), and Imani Pearl Williams (1776).

Repertorio Español, one of NYC’s most celebrated Latinx theatre companies, presents the New York premiere of “RADOJKA, SI TE MUERES TE MATO” (RADOJKA, I’LL KILL YOU IF YOU DIE), written by the Uruguayan playwriters Fernando Schmidt & Christian Ibarzabal
Leyma López will direct the comedy and stars Zulema Clares from Cuba, Maria Fontanals from Spain, and Wanda Arriaga & Gilberto Gabriel Díaz Flores from Puerto Rico. The production will start previews on Friday, June 2nd, and premiere on Tuesday, June 6th. It will take place at the 55th-anniversary celebration to support Repertorio’s Education Program, ¡DIGNIDAD! on the iconic Gramercy Arts Theatre stage with a reception at Sarabeth’s at Park Avenue South after the performance. Sterling K. Brown and Laura Benanti to Star in ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ Reading, eyeing a Broadway run. Tony winner Laura Benanti will play Nurse Ratched.
