Ronald ‘Smokey’ Stevens; Britney Spears’ Once Upon a One More Time; Cow Girl; AntFEST; Teenagers in Love; Le Bijou de Paris

Ronald “Smokey” Stevens, one of Broadway’s great musical comedy performers, return June 1 to 18 in “I Just Want to Tell Somebody,” a stage adaptation of his autobiographical novel of the same name.  Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., presented the world premiere of the piece January 6 to February 6, 2022 and is now hosting a return engagement. On November 28, 2022 Mr. Stevens received a 2022 AUDELCO Award for Solo Performance in recognition of this piece.

Boardwalk Productions invites you the World Premiere of TEENAGERS IN LOVE by Sean O’Connor. Directed by Debra Whitfield, performances run runs June 2 – 17 at The Chain Theatre (312 W 36th Street between 8th & 9th Avenues). In TEENAGERS IN LOVE, Harp and Becca, New Jersey high school sweethearts in the 1970s, meet for the first time since Harp was accused of killing Becca’s gay and troubled brother Donnie on graduation night 47 years prior.

Playwright & Pop Culture Guru, Anna Capunay penned this enlightening and exhilarating tale Cow Girl, a young woman who retreats behind a superhero mask to fight the ultimate super-villain – the real world.  The cast of Cowl Girl includes Yessenia Rivas as Cowl Girl; Lily Randall as Tabby; Azende Johnson as Alex; and (“holy cartoon character, Batman!”) Mike Pollock appears as  Jason. A new war pits humans and living mannequins against each other in the new play Le Bijou de Paris. Using original pop music and dance, the limited run will play at The Chain Theatre in Manhattan (312 West 36 St.) June 29 to July 1. Le Bijou de Paris is written and directed by Edoardo Tesio, with choreography by Bridget Spencer, and original music by Olivia Amicangioli.Tickets; HERE

Once Upon a One More Time, the ultimate Revisionist fairy tale, is a jukebox musical comedy based on songs popularized by Britney Spears. Set in a fantasy storybook realm, the plot follows numerous fairy-tale characters transformed by a feminist awakening. Original story by Jon Hartmere, directed/choreographed by Keone & Mari Madrid, with David Leveaux. Cast includes Briga Heelan, Justin Guarini, Aisha Jackson, Jennifer Simard, Adam Godley, many more.
