Ben Platt will lend his vocals to an upcoming concert residency on Broadway this spring. The Tony Award-winning actor most recently seen onstage in “Parade” will offer audiences an 18-performance engagement at the newly refurbished Palace TheatreMichael Arden, who won a Tony for helming the “Parade” revival, will serve as director of the residency, set to run from May 28 through June 15. The show, titled “Ben Platt: Live at the Palace,” marks the first booking announced for the Palace since it closed for renovation in 2018. The concert run will celebrate the release of Platt’s upcoming album, “Honeymind.” “Ben Platt: Live at the Palace” is expected to feature numbers from the new album in addition to selections from his prior albums.

Classic Stage Company announced additional performers for Classics Gone Mad!, a benefit event held at CSC’s Lynn F. Angelson Theater on Monday, April 1, at 7pm. Claybourne ElderElad Kabilio, and Tony Award nominee Jessica Vosk join the previously announced performers, which include Julie Benko, L Morgan Lee, Jose Llana, Bonnie Milligan, Jelani Remy, and The Skivvies. www.classicstage.org


Illinoise is Broadway-bound!. The new musical, which will complete its Off-Broadway run at Park Avenue Armory on March 26, will open in a 2 p.m. matinée performance on April 24 at Broadway’s St. James Theatre. Justin Peck directs and choreographs. There will be no previews. The production will play a limited run through Aug. 10.
