Soul Doctor, beginning previews July 17th (opening August 15), has announced its general rush ticket policy for all performances starting July 17th, 8 p.m. at Circle in the Square.  The musical is about the life and music of Shlomo Carlebach (book and direction by Daniel S. Wise, lyrics David Schecter). It’s a musical journey through triumphs and tribulations of a cultural phenomenon.

Soul Doctor is the story of the father of popular Jewish music and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone. Shlomo was a modern day troubadour who ignited the spirit of millions around the world with his soul-stirring melodies, storytelling and love.  After escaping Nazi Germany, the young Rabbi befriended legendary jazz artist Nina Simone who introduced him to soul and gospel music.  She was his inspiration and he became known as a “Rock Star Rabbi.”

The limited number of $30 rush tickets will be available at the box office beginning at 10 a.m. for that day’s performance and is limited to 2 tickets per person.
