The Billie Holiday Theatre has partnered with the Nova Frontier Film Festival  and The Laurel Channel TV to launch the Nova Frontier Film Festival 2020 (NFFF 2020), a unique and timely virtual edition of the innovative global film festival. With all of this year’s planned festivals shut down due to the global pandemic, NFFF 2020 will be the one of the only virtual film festival spotlighting independent filmmakers of color from all over the world – particularly across the African Diaspora, The Middle East and Latin America – and this year’s themes will center around immigration and identity with echoes of the concepts and constructs of social distancing and self-quarantining.

The Festival will consist of a weekend full of events including 17 curated long and short-form films, panels, and performances and will take place from Friday, June 12th – Sunday, June 14th. Countries represented include the United States, France, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt, Colombia and Brazil.
