On Tuesday, December 3, New York Pops Brass Quintet will participate in the eighth annual Tree Lighting Show at the Bank of America Winter Village in Bryant Park. With music playing throughout the park starting at 5:15PM and the event beginning at 6PM, The Tree Lighting Show includes musical performances and figure skating to create an evening worthy of the park’s 50-foot Norway Spruce. The New York Pops Brass Quintet, featuring musicians Neil Balm, Tony KadleckDaniel Culpepper, Richard Clark, and Marcus Rojas, will perform a selection of favorite holiday tunes, including “Joy to the World,” “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” “Deck The Halls,” and more.

The event also helps to kick-off a campaign to support hunger relief for New Yorkers in the five boroughs. With Skate-to-Donate and Dine-to-Donate programs, Bank of America will match minutes skated at The Rink and desserts ordered at Celsius with contributions to fighting hunger by providing donations to the Food Bank for New York City. Those interested in participating or learning more can visit the Winter Village website at www.wintervillage.org. Located at W. 40th and W. 42nd Streets between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the holiday village is adjacent to the New York Public Library and a short walk from Times Square and Grand Central Station.

The Tree Lighting Show is the first of four holiday celebrations featuring The New York Pops. On Thursday, December 19 at 8:00PM and Friday, December 20 at 8:00PM at Carnegie Hall, the orchestra will perform Under the Mistletoe with Ashley Brown, a concert of traditional favorites and new holiday hits from one of Broadway’s favorite leading ladies. The New York Pops will also perform a special holiday Family Concert, a staged concert version of A Charlie Brown Christmas, on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 2:00PM at Carnegie Hall.
