The New York Pops will honor Grammy, Tony, and Emmy Award-winning icon Barry Manilow at the orchestra’s 40th Birthday GalaThis One’s For You: The Music of Barry Manilow, on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall.

The celebratory concert will feature music from Barry’s wide-ranging catalogue performed by The New York Pops, under the music direction of Steven Reineke, along with a starry line-up of guest artists to be announced. Barry Manilow’s unparalleled career encompasses virtually every area of music, including performing, composing, arranging and producing. He is a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee who has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide.

The New York Pops 40th Anniversary Birthday Gala additionally celebrates Corporate Honoree Tamara Alesi, CEO at Mediaplus North America, the largest independent and partner-managed media agency in Europe with 35 offices in 18 countries; as well as Legacy Honorees Patty and James Read, who are being honored for their many years of support to The New York Pops. James “Jim” Read, now named Chairman Emeritus of The New York Pops, first joined the Board in 1999 and served as Chairman from 2008 to 2022. During his tenure as Chair, a major accomplishment of Read’s was in hiring Steven Reineke as Music Director and Conductor of The New York Pops.
