Directed by Stafford Arima, the evening included cocktails, dinner, and tribute performances honoring the recipients of the 2016 Ahrens and Flaherty. Christy Altomare and Derek Klena performed “In a Crowd of Thousands” from the much-anticipated new musical, Anastasia, set to open on Broadway on April 24, 2017. Broadway stars and Broadway Dreams teaching artists Quentin Earl Darrington and recording artist Morgan James also performed. A costume exhibit was displayed for the evening, featuring pieces from Ahrens and Flaherty’s past and upcoming Broadway productions, including designs by Tony Award®-winning costume designer William Ivey Long (Little Dancer).
