Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) held their annual Gala on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 583 Park Avenue. The event celebrated the company’s 30th anniversary and honored Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Donald Margulies and award-winning producer, Julian Schlossberg. The Honorary Gala Co-Chairs are Brian d’Arcy James, Laura Linney, Elaine May, and Susan Stroman. The evening featured performances and tributes by Tony nominee Nick Cordero, Charles Busch, Judy Gold, David Ives, the creators of In Transit, Tony winner Frank Langella, Elaine May, Tony winner Billy Porter, Marlo Thomas, Rachel York, and surprise guests.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Donald Margulies is a Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright. His many works include The Country House, Time Stands Still (Tony nomination), Dinner With Friends (Pulitzer Prize), Brooklyn Boy, Sight Unseen (Obie Award, Pulitzer finalist), Collected Stories (Pulitzer finalist), The Loman Family Picnic, What’s Wrong With This Picture?, etc. Primary Stages was proud to produce his plays, The Model Apartment (Obie Award, Lucille Lortel Award nomination) and Shipwrecked!
