It was “shush shush, keep it quiet” until December 23 when a Surprise Birthday Party was thrown by Max St. James and friends at the new location for Mont Blanc (owner Marie) on West 52nd Street. You must recall being greeted by Lola (Chita Rivera’s sister) at the old location on West 48th Street, where we loved the food, the ambiance, the people and are thrilled to be back in their delicious arms again. But on to the point of this article…..Birthday of the Crown Prince of Cabaret!
Many arrived for the occasion, the setting relaxed, with everyone enjoying the evening, their friends and the happy moments of the occasion – celebrating Steve Ross! Who was there? Well, just a few of theater and cabaret’s best. . . Sheldon Harnick, Lee Roy Reams, Anna Bergman, James Followell, David Staller, Peter Filichia, Jim Brochu, Steve Schlachlin, Will Friedwald and a host of other hoi polloi.
