From the quintessential ‘Hey, kids, let’s put on a show’ acclaimed playwright and Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane, the Forestburgh Playhouse, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Franklin Trapp, will present a new version of the Rodgers & Hart musical classic, Babes in Arms with a fresh, witty and relevant script by Mr. Beane “Miracle of the Forest.” This event will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Playhouse from Aug. 24 thru Sept. 5.
The production, Directed by Douglas Carter Beane, Choreographed by Ellenore Scott (Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical/Little Shop of Horrors), with Musical Direction by T.C. Kincer, features Eric Siegle, Aliza Ciara, Liat Shuflita, Tia Karaplis, Jeffrey Marc Alkins, GraceAnn Kontak, Joseph Monseur, Dan Kelly, Logan Schmucker and M.L. Catwelld. In addition, Douglas Carter Beane’s latest offering is Fairycakes, a new anticipated comedy, is scheduled to begin performances Oct. 14 in a limited engagement thru January 2, 2022 at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street, NYC).
