Second Stage Theater has announced the cast for its upcoming production of Larissa FastHorse’s play, THE THANKSGIVING PLAY: Emmy Award-nominee D’Arcy Carden (“The Good Place,” “A League of Their Own”), Two-time Tony Award-winner Katie Finneran (Noises OffPromises, Promises), Scott Foley (“Scandal,” “The Unit”), and Two-time Emmy Award-nominee Chris Sullivan (“This Is Us,” Hadestown).  This all-new production, directed by Tony Award-winner Rachel Chavkin, will begin previews March 25th at 8pm and will officially open on April 20th at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater (240 West 44th Street). THE THANKSGIVING PLAY are currently available by phone at 212-541-4516 and at 2ST.com. The Alliance of Teatros Latinos NY is proud to announce TeatroFest NYC 2023, a citywide festival of live drama, dance, music and conversations with Latin artists. TeatroFest NYC 2023 will feature 20 Productions and 210 Performances in at least 9 Latin theater venues from March 1 to April 30, 2023. The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the staged world premiere play shadow/land written by The Public, Barnard College, and Ntozake Shange Literary Trust’s inaugural Ntozake Shange Social Justice Theater Playwright-in-Residence Erika Dickerson-Despenza and directed by Candis C. Jones. Previously premiering as an audio play at The Public in 2021 as a part of virtual programming during the pandemic, shadow/land will make its live debut this spring. The stage production marks Dickerson-Despenza and Jones’ return following the successful production of cullud wattah presented at The Public last season. The production begins performances in the LuEsther Hall with a Joseph Papp Free Performance on Thursday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, May 21. shadow/land officially opens on Thursday, May 4. www.publictheater.org

The Lucille Lortel Awards, the preeminent honor presented exclusively to recognize Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway, today announced the 38th Annual Lortel Awards will take place Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 7:00PM at NYU Skirball Center. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and the Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF. In addition to the regular awards, including non-gendered performance awards and the ensemble award – both added last year – special awards will be presented in three categories. The event will, as always, be open to the public, with tickets available for purchase beginning April 7 at tickets.nyu.edu or at the NYU Skirball Center box office Tuesday – Saturday 12pm–6pm. As always, the Lortel Awards is a benefit for the Entertainment Community Fund and fans are encouraged to make donations at LortelAwards.org.
