Scott Fitzgerald’s timeless, seminal novel The Great Gatsby opens at the Broadway Theatre on West 53rd Street, April 25th to transport audiences to the lavish Roaring Twenties, the story following eccentric and mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby, who will stop at nothing in the pursuit of the lost love of his youth, Daisy Buchanan. The jazz and pop-infused score is by Tony Award nominee Jason Howland, lyrics by Tony Award nominee Nathan Tysen, a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan, directed by Marc Bruni, choreographed by Dominique Kelley starring Jeremy Jordan and Eva Noblezada.

Ensemble Studio Theatre (Estefanía Fadul and Graeme Gillis, Co-Artistic Directors) and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation (Doron Weber, Vice President and Program Director) are pleased to announce the line-up for the 2024 First Light Festival, part of the EST/Sloan Project to develop plays exploring science and technology.  Every year, the First Light festival shares a first look at projects commissioned and currently in development under the EST/Sloan Project. This year’s line-up includes new works by Karina Billini, Meghan Endres Brown, Sandra A. Daley-Sharif, Allyson Morgan, Jacquelyn Reingold, Jacob Marx Rice, Melisa Tien, and Zhu Yi.

The 2024 First Light Festival will run from April 25 to June 13 and include six public readings and two closed readings for internal development. All First Light Festival presentations are free and will be held at Ensemble Studio Theatre (545 W. 52nd St., 2nd Floor). The Drama League Awards have announced co-hosts for the 2024 nominations ceremony. Tony Award nominee Vanessa Williams and current Hadestown star Jordan Fisher will announce the nominations for the awards that honor Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. The ceremony will be held at New York Library for the Performing Arts on May 17 at 10:00 a.m.
