Best Of Broadway Flops will be presented at 54 Below (254 W. 54 St) on April 2 at 7pm – – Musicals that may not have had their time in the limelight. The underdogs take the spotlight allowing theater enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the magic of these potentially overlooked musical masterpieces and rediscover the beauty of their artistry. Not having commercial successful at the box office doesn’t always speak for the show’s quality.
Best of Broadway Flops is produced and hosted by vocalists Ted Calvin and Mario Greiner with music direction by Michael Lavine. Origin 1st Irish 2024, running from Mar 23 to April 28, presents a mix of productions from Ireland and New York.  15 new plays in all will be seen at different stages of development; 10 of these will be in competition, vying for awards that will be handed out on the Festival’s closing night at the Irish Rep on Sunday April 28 at 6pm. www.origintheatre.org

The J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company (Jim Jimirro, Executive Producer/Co-Founder; Robert W. Schneider, Artistic Director/Co-Founder) has revealed the Lagniappe schedule for their 2024 season.  Pronounced “Lan-yap,” the word “Lagniappe” comes from the Louisiana French meaning ‘bonus’ or ‘gift.’ Do Re Mi, which will be directed by Ovation Award-winning director Robert W. Schneider with musical direction by Miles Plant and choreography by Andrew Winans, has the following lagniappe schedule following each performance. Brooklyn’s legendary Billie Holiday Theatre which will present the revival of Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine written by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage. Serving as the launch and centerpiece of The Billie’s 2024 Season, this production of the classic comedic play is a homecoming of sorts for Lynn – a Brooklyn native- who called this revival of her work ‘a full circle moment’ as she had her first theater experience at The Billie as a child! This iteration of Fabulation will also mark The Billie’s first major theater production under the leadership of its new Executive Director Shadawn Smith. Previews begin Thursday, April 11th with Opening Night on Thursday, April 18th and running through May 19th.

Broadway’s West 48th Street will be renamed “Chavkin Way” celebrating director Rachel Chavkin who is this season’s director for both Lempicka and Hadestown. An unveiling will take place on March 20th outside the Longacre Theatre.
