**More Broadway Shows Slated to Open**
Come From Away will return to Broadway Sept. 21 – The musical is shooting a filmed version of the production this month.
The new musical Mrs. Doubtfire will resume performances on Broadway Oct. 21. The musical will open at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Dec. 5. Rob McClure is confirmed to return in the title role.
Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations, the Tony Award®-winning musical will resume Broadway performances on Saturday, October 16, at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) with a gala performance heralding the return of Broadway. Company will return to Broadway on Dec. 20 – The new revival of Company will resume Broadway performances on Dec. 20. Katrina Lenk, who plays Bobbie, and Patti Lupone as Joanne are confirmed to return with the production, with the rest of the cast anticipated to return. An opening night is planned for Jan. 9, 2022 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
New Musical Ever After, (lyrics Marcy Heisler and music by Zinna Goldrich – book by Heisler and Kate Wetherhead) which played Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre in January 2019, will be workshopped during Discovering Broadway’s writers retreat program in Carmel, Indiana, this month. The workshop will culminate with songs from the new musical, performed by Anastasia‘s Christy Altomare and Bandstand‘s Corey Cott, at the newly opened Feinstein’s at Hotel Carmichael May 23 at 5 PM and 7:30 PM.
The 2021 “European Month of Culture NYC,” produced by Origin Theatre Company in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, is restarting this month with a series of play readings and panel talks involving playwrights, producers and cultural organizations from New York, Romania, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Lithuania and the countries of Scandinavia. Co-curated by Erwin Maas and Michael Mellamphy, and staged virtually from a variety of locations, the readings will be presented live on Zoom on Mon May 17 at 6pm; Mon May 24 at 8pm; Sat May 29 at 2pm; Sun May 30 at 1pm, and Mon May 31 at 6pm. The panel talk, presented by the Scandinavian American Theater Company live on Zoom, is on Tue May 25 at 12pm. All the events are free. (All times are EDT.) Rachel Brosnahan’s Scrap Paper Pictures will co-produce an Off Broadway limited benefit engagement of The Great Filter, a new one-act play that will star Brosnahan’s newly announced Marvelous Mrs. Maisel castmate (and real-life husband) Jason Ralph and his The Magicians‘ costar Trevor Einhorn.
The production will be presented live for three nights only – July 1 through July 3 – at the Lower East Side venue The Wild Project. Following the live run, a ticketed virtual presentation will be available beginning July 29 through Eventive, with all proceeds from the virtual presentation ticket sales benefitting The Cultural Solidarity Fund, which provides relief microgrants to artists and cultural workers impacted by the pandemic.

New York Theatre Barn will present concerts of work written by members of Tony Award-winning writer William Finn’s (Falsettos, Spelling Bee) first two virtual Master Classes in Lyric Writing. The non-profit theatre company that serves as a home for original culture shifting musicals during incubation will offer two free live stream presentations: Thursday, May 20th @ 7PM and Thursday, May 27th @ 7PM.
