On Sugarland, written by Obie Award winner Aleshea Harris (Is God Is, What to Send Up When It Goes Down), directedby Obie Award winner and NYTW Usual Suspect Whitney White (Semblance, What to Send Up When It Goes Down) and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly (Hurricane Diane, The House That Will Not Stand). On Sugarland began previews on Saturday February 5, 2022 and is set to open on Wednesday February 23 for a limited run through Sunday March 13, 2022.

Book of Mountains & Seas at St. Ann’s Warehouse, Dumbo, Brooklyn – Huang Ruo (Composer/Lyricist), Basil Twist (Director/Designer) featuring The Choir of Wall Street.  Funny Girl previously announced Beanie Feldstein, Tony and Olivier Award nominee Ramin Karimloo, Jeff Award winner Jared Grimes, and five-time Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch who will be joined by Peter Francis James as Florenz Ziegfeld, Ephie Aardema as Emma/Mrs. Nadler, Debra Cardona as Mrs. Meeker, Toni DiBuono as Mrs. Strakosh, Martin Moran as Tom Keeney, Julie Benko as Fanny Brice Standby. The musical is directed by Tony Award Winner Michael Mayer with a book newly revised by Harvey Fierstein. Choreography by Ellenore Scott with tap choreography by Ayodele Casel.  Performances begin Saturday, March 26, 2022 and officially opens on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street).

La MaMa ETC presents the world premiere of “Misdemeanor Dream,” the latest large-scale production of Spiderwoman Theater, the legendary Downtown feminist-Indigenous theater ensemble. Created by the ensemble using their signature “storyweaving” process, “Misdemeanor Dream” blends traditional and contemporary narratives, movement, text, sound, installation art and projection, in order to reclaim, reimagine and revive missing stories. The production’s co-creators and storyweaving team leaders are director Muriel Miguel; choreographer Penny Couchie (co-artistic director of Aanmitaagzi); and vocal choreographer Imelda Villalon. The on-stage ensemble includes Donna Couteau* Wolfen de Kastro* Marjolaine Mckenzie, Gloria Miguel* Henu Josephine Tarrant, and Imelda Villalon. www.lamama.org
