Due to popular demand, Katsura Sunshine’s Rakugo has added a new block of tickets through the end of the year at NYC’s New World Stages. Sunshine will also continue to perform on London’s West End at the Leicester Square Theatre.  Katsura Sunshine’s Rakugo celebrates the art of comic storytelling and features a lone storyteller dressed in kimono, kneeling on a cushion, using only a fan and a hand towel for props, entertaining the audience with a comic monologue followed by traditional stories that have been handed down from Master-to-Apprentice for centuries. 

Tony winner Lena Hall will take on the role of Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors beginning on September 6. Hall will star opposite Rob McClure and Andrew Call, who steps into the role of Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. beginning on August 30. www.littleshopnyc.com

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) will present First Gen MixFest, a series of free readings co-produced by playwrights Ngozi Anyanwu and Sanaz Toossi, that will run at Atlantic’s Linda Gross Theater from Monday, August 8th through Wednesday, August 17th, 2022. Atlantic will present readings of full-length plays by Ngozi Anyanwu, Katie Đỗ, Keiko Green, and Alex Riad. A comic spy thriller by two-time Emmy nominee and WGA award-winner Mark Wilding (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Good Girls, Charmed) is set to receive its New York City off-Broadway premiere in September. Presciliana EsparoliniNick McDow Musleh and George Tovar will reprise the roles they created in the world premiere production at L.A.’s Theatre West, with Steve Nevil and Michael Van Duzer returning as Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger. Charlie Mount again directs.
