Roundabout Theatre Company’s (Todd Haimes, President/CEO, in memoriam; Scott Ellis, Interim Artistic Director) world-premiere production of Primary Trust by Eboni Booth, directed by Knud Adams began previews on May 4. Primary Trust features Eric Berryman as “Bert,” Emmy winner William Jackson Harper as “Kenneth,” Obie winner April Matthis as “Wally’s Waiter & others,” Jay O. Sanders as “Clay & others,” and Luke Wygodny as “musician.”                                          

Primary Trust opens officially on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Laura Pels Theater in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through Monday, July 10, 2023. www.roundabouttheatre.org

This Land Was Made written by Tori Sampson (New York Times Critic’s Pick If Pretty Hurts, Ugly Must Be A Muhfucka) and directed by LPTW Lucille Lortel Award and 2023 Obie Award winner Taylor Reynolds (Tambo & Bones). Previews begin on May 18 at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street). Opening night for This Land Was Made, the third and final production of the Vineyard’s 40th season, is set for Sunday, June 4 at 5pm. The complete cast features Antoinette Crowe-Legacy, Leland Fowler, Matthew Griffin, Sean Patrick Higgins, Yasha Jackson, Ezra Knight, Julian Elijah Martinez, Curt Morlaye, Oliver Palmer, Libya V. The award-winning National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) is raising the curtain on a dynamic 109th season with a free concert New York Sings Yiddish! as part of Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage; a new musical production, Amid Falling Walls (Tsvishn Falndike Vent), which tells through Yiddish song stories of the perseverance of the Jewish spirit during the Holocaust; a star-studded Summer Soirée; two new works for young audiences and more.

The world’s oldest continuously operating Yiddish theatre company—and longest consecutively producing theatre in the United States—is also proud to announce the Broadway transfer of its 2022 smash hit Harmony: A New Musical by the legendary Barry Manilow and his longtime collaborator Bruce Sussman, with performances beginning October 18, in advance of a November 13, 2023 opening at the Barrymore Theater.
