The People Versus Lenny Bruce is the third segment of “All The Court’s A Stage,” a series of one-act plays that are based on seven of Martin Garbus‘ cases and directed by Antony Marsellis. Martin Garbus, who has been called “One of the world’s finest trial lawyers”, has represented: Lenny Bruce, Philip Roth, Samuel Beckett, Igor Stravinsky, John Cheever, Daniel Ellsberg, Al Pacino, and Susan Sontag, to name a few! The New Group announces its complete 2023-2024 Season.  The season launches with Sabbath’s Theater, adapted from the novel by Philip Roth by Ariel Levy and John Turturro, directed by Jo Bonney, featuring Jason KravitsElizabeth Marvel and John Turturro in a world premiere produced by The New Group with Karen Brooks Hopkins.  Performances begin October 10.  In winter 2024 is The Seven Year Disappear, by Jordan Seavey, directed by Scott Elliott, with Cynthia Nixon and Taylor Trensch. Completing the company’s season in spring 2024 is All of Me, by Laura Winters, directed by Ashley Brooke Monroe, featuring Madison Ferris and Danny J. Ruth Stage announced that Ana Isabelle (‘Rosalia’ in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story) will star as ‘Elizabeth’ in their upcoming off-Broadway premiere of James McLure’s dark comedy Lone Star, playing Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street) this fall. Additionally, the show will feature an original song written and performed by Ms. Isabelle. Directed by Joe Rosario (Ruth Stage’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof starring Courtney Henggeler), Lone Star is set to begin preview performances on Friday, November 24th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), with an opening night set for Sunday, December 3rd. This spring, Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop) has announced that it will produce Anton Chekhov’s classic UNCLE VANYA, featuring a new translation by Heidi Schreck, directed by Lila Neugebauer. The production will begin previews Tuesday, April 2, 2024, and open on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). www.lct.org
