Betty Boop the Musical – Lone Star/Theater Row – The Outsiders/Jacobs Theatre – Museum of Broadway One Year Celebration- Export Quality/HERE . . . .

The off-Broadway premiere of  James McLure’s dark comedy Lone Star, plays Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).  The production stars Ana Isabelle (‘Rosalia’ in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story) as ‘Elizabeth’,  Ryan McCartan (WickedFrozenHeathers The Musical, Fox’s The Rocky Horror Picture Show) as ‘Cletis’, recently added TV’s Dan Amboyer (“Younger” & “The Black List: Redemption”) has taken over the role as “Ray” and Matt de Rogatis (‘Brick’ in Ruth Stage’s off-Broadway premiere of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof ).

Preview performances on Saturday, November 25th at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street), with an opening night set for Sunday, December 3rd. The strictly limited engagement is set to run through Saturday, December 23rd, 2023.

On Wednesday, November 15th, The Museum of Broadway will celebrate its one-year anniversary. The evening will include special remarks, a presentation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the unveiling of two windows designed exclusively for The Museum of Broadway by the Fashion Institute of Technology, special musical performances and Broadway celebs. 145 West 45 St.NYC.

Drawn from true stories of mail-order brides from the Philippines, Export Quality will begin its limited run at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Ave, New York, NY 10013) from December 3 through December 17, 2023, opening night will be celebrated on December 7.  This production is written by  Erica Miguel, Carolyn Antonio, Dorotea Mendoza and directed By  Sonoko Kawhara. The cast for Export Quality includes Myka Cue (Regional: Sweeney Todd), Cat Grey (Off-Broadway “The Little Dancer ”), Jill Jose (Film: Birder), and Arianne Recto (Public’s Hercules, As You Like It).  www.HERE.org

Additional casting has been announced for the Broadway premiere of The Outsiders, the new musical based on the seminal novel by S.E. Hinton Francis Ford Coppola ’s landmark motion picture. Previews begin Saturday, March 16, 2024, ahead of a Thursday, April 11, 2024, opening night at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street). Joshua Boone as Dallas Winston, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance and Daryl Tofa as Two-Bit Matthews, with Kevin William Paul making his Broadway debut as Bob Sheldon. They join, as previously announced, Brody Grant as Ponyboy Curtis, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis and Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis.

In advance of preview performances of BOOP! THE BETTY BOOP MUSICAL starting this weekend at the CIBC Theatre in Chicago, a new studio video performance of “Where I Wanna Be” has been released.  

Written by David Foster and Susan Birkenhead, the Act One closer from the new musical, is performed by Jasmine Amy Rogers and produced by David Foster, with direction/choreography by Jerry Mitchell, Boop! Is Broadway bound.
