New Victory Theater, NYC’s premiere performing arts hub for young audiences, and wanted to invite you to an upcoming performance ofthe touching historical tale The Vanishing Elephant from Belfast’s Cahoots NI, running from October 14 through October 29 at Stage 42. Featuring full-scale puppets that grow from tot to teen to towering adults, this jumbo journey follows Jenny the elephant as she is captured and taken from India to America, far from her family and her forever friend, Opu. Swept up in the circus, Jenny makes magic and history as “The Vanishing Elephant” alongside Harry Houdini himself – but she never stops thinking of home. This moving story of friendship and what it means to be ‘home’ reflects on topics of migration, displacement, new beginnings, and acceptance. A new musical about zombies is the perfect way to get ready for Halloween as Josh Canfield’s ALIVE! (Book, Music, Lyrics) gets a New York concert presentation at Theatre 555 (555 West 42) beginning October 8 and will run through October 16.  Directed by David Ruttura with musical direction by Matt Hinkley, ALIVE! follows Shelly Dinkley, a gutsy news reporter who believes zombies are terrorizing her small town. She witnesses her co-worker, Eve, attacked and surprisingly saved by a zombie who calls himself Zombie6. Club44 Records is pleased to announce the signing of the Tony Award-winning Broadway star Stephanie J. Block to its illustrious roster of artists representing the Great American Songbook. Her debut holiday album Merry Christmas, Darling – featuring both secular and sacred seasonal classics, including a new song written for her by Club44 co-founder Wayne Haun and Tony-winning lyricist David Zippel – will be released on November 3, 2023.
