Although many shows struggling to sell tickets have closed at the beginning of 2024, it’s no secret that shows face weather conditions, less tourists and local audiences during January and February. With that said, there are shows that continue to set box office records: SIX, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Chicago and MJ and new shows opening on and off Broadway that will attract attention, but perhaps for shorter runs.

Fans of My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?)can enter a special, first-of-its-kind digital lottery to win $24 tickets to the new play’s early performances at The Lyceum Theatre. The lottery, open today through 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 7, allows fans to enter to win 1 or 2 tickets priced at $24 each to the performance of their choice between February 27 and March 11.  The play will begin performances on February 27, 2024, with opening night slated for March 12 at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th St.). Darren Criss and Evan Rachel Wood are set to step into the roles of Seymour and Audrey in the Off Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors, taking over the roles from Constance Wu and Corbin Bleu, who play their final performance on January 28.


Deadly Stages by Marc Castle and Mark Finley will get an Off-Broadway run via Emerging Artists Theatre and No Anita No Productions in 2024. Performances will begin February 16 at Theatre Row’s Stage 5. The run will continue through March 16, with opening night set for February 25.


Baker Falls and Knitting Factory will present a site-specific production of Dead Brains, a psychosexual thriller written and directed by Erik Champney. The show will run from January 17-February 18 at the Feverdream Lounge at Baker Falls in the East Village.
