The Meatpacking District is about to become even more walkable as the Open Streets program will eliminate vehicle traffic permanently making way for outdoor performances and exhibitions. The recent Flower Festival is just one recent example along with the performance of The Seven Deadly Sins. Expect to see new unique planter barricades from Gansevoort Street, Little West 12th Street and West 13th Street between 9th Ave. and Washington St. and more.

Showstoppers! Spectacular Costumes From Stage and Screen opened Aug. 5th in Times Square at 234 West 42nd Street. The show aims to not only provide visitors with a behind-the-scenes stage and screen experience but also play a major role in New York’s ongoing revitalization. The large-scale offering will feature the original costumes from a number of Broadway hits, past and present, including Moulin Rouge!The Lion KingWicked, and Chicago. A few costumes from smash television shows and films will be in the mix, too, including pieces from Saturday Night Live and the upcoming James Bond film No Time to Die. Proceeds to raise funds for the Costume Industry Coalition Recovery Fund for out of work members.

It’s almost time for the Annual Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy where you’ll find some of the best Italian restaurants and can watch the colorful parades. As Broadway celebrates 25 years of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, audiences can now see the exclusive debut of a special London Coliseum performance on Sept. 9 via BroadwayHD.
