Complete casting has been announced for the US premiere of ROOM written by Emma Donoghue with music/lyrics by Scottish songwriters Kathryn Joseph and Cora Bissett and directed by Ms. Bissett. It opens Monday, April 17, 2023 on Broadway at the Shubert Organization’s brilliantly restored James Earl Jones Theatre (138 West 48th Street), with previews beginning on April 3, 2023. Katy and Jennifer vs. The Flasher on New Year’s, the newest play by Matt Morillo (author of “Angry Young Women in Low Rise Jeans with High Class Issues”). Theater for the New City, which has been Morillo’s creative home since 2007, will present the world premiere of the play March 16 to April 2. Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Steven Soderbergh will make his New York City theatrical producing debut with the World Premiere of The Fears, a new play by Emma Sheanshang, and directed by Dan Algrant. Five-time Tony Award winner John N. Hart Jr. serves as Executive Producer.
The production will begin performances on April 25, 2023 and open May 18, 2023 Off-Broadway at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street) for a limited engagement. Casting will be announced in coming weeks.
The producers of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bad Cinderella announced general rush, digital rush, and digital lottery policies for the highly anticipated new musical. Beginning Friday, February 17th, $30 rush tickets will be available daily at the Imperial Theatre (249 W 45th St.) box office starting at 10:00am. Tickets will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets per person and may only be purchased for that day’s performance. Tickets are subject to availability.
