Sutton Foster and Aaron Tveit will host the 2024 Annual Drama Desk Awards, on Monday, June 10 at 6:15 at NYU Skirball Center. Lorin Latarro will direct the evening and Steve Rosen & David Rossmer will be writing the show, with musical direction by Annbritt duChateau, lighting design by Jeremy Cunningham, sound design by Daniel Gerhard, and video design by Ido Levran

Tony nominee Lilli Cooper has joined the Encores! presentation of the musical Titanic, alongside her Tony-winning father Chuck Cooper and brother Eddie Cooper. Her previous Encores! performances include Nancy in Lionel Bart’s Oliver (2023) and Lottie in Mack & Mabel (2020). For Titanic she will step into the role of Kate Murphey, replacing Shereen Ahmed. Performances run at New York City Center from June 11 through 23. Additionally, Ari Notartomaso (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies) will make their Encores! debut as Bellboy, replacing Jo Lampert.

The complete cast for the Encores! Titanic features Ashley Blanche, Adam Chanler-Berat, Andrew Durand, Drew Gehling, Alex Joseph Grayson, Ramin Karimloo, Nathan Salstone, A.J. Shively, Brandon Uranowitz, Samantha Williams and Chip Zien.

Alex Newell and the Gospel of a Diva, a solo show written and performed by its title Tony Award-winning star, will have three performances at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre from June 27 through 29. Directed by Zhailon Levingston, the show will also be recorded live from the Minetta Lane Theatre and released on Audible at a later date.  https://www.audible.com/ep/minettalane

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Sarah Stern and Douglas Aibel are pleased to announce the company’s upcoming 42nd Season which will include two world premiere productions with a third to be announced in coming weeks.
 
The world premiere of The Antiquities, written by Jordan Harrison (The Amateurs, Marjorie Prime) is a co-production with Playwrights Horizons and Goodman Theatre and will be presented at Playwright Horizons (416 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036). The world premiere of Bowl EP, written and directed by Nazareth Hassan (Vineyard Artist-in-Residence), will be a co-production with National Black Theatre in association with The New Group, and will be presented at The Vineyard (108 East 15th Street, New York, NY 10003). Fall programming will be announced in coming weeks.

The Vineyard will give audiences a closer look at their 2024-25  season (and beyond) in an upcoming event on Monday, June 10 at 7 pm. Fearless Collaborations will feature conversations with Jordan Harrison and dramaturg Sarah LunnieNazarath Hassan and Joe Morton; and Martha Clarke and Arthur Solari, about the process of creating the work audiences will soon have a chance to see. www.vineyardtheatre.org
