Patriots, a timely new play, is heading to Broadway. Peter Morgan’s drama about the long aftermath of the Soviet Union’s fall, will arrive at the Barrymore Theatre in spring of 2024. Sonia Friedman will produce and Rupert Goold will helm the production, an Olivier Award-nominated transfer from London’s Noël Coward Theatre, which followed a debut with the Almeida Theatre, where Goold is the artistic director. Broadway previews will begin on April 1 ahead of an opening night of April 22 for a limited engagement through June 23.   Patriots will be headlined by original London star Will Keen, who will re-create his Olivier-winning performance as Vladimir Putin. Keen will appear alongside fellow West End cast member Luke Thallon in the role of Roman Abramovich, with Tony-nominated actor Michael Stuhlbarg portraying Boris Berezovsky. Additional casting to be announced.


The new musical How to Dance in Ohio will play its final Broadway performance on Feb 11. … Upon closing, How to Dance will have played 27 previews and 72 regular performances.

A Perfect Peace, a new play by Martin M. Zuckerman and directed by Hersh Ellis and Susan Kohn Green, will play Theatre at St. Clements. Performances begin February 28 with opening night set for March 11 and the limited engagement runs through May 18. A Perfect Peace is based upon the novel of the same title by Amos Oz with English translation by Hillel Halkin.


Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) artistic director Lynne Meadow was honored with a state dinner by the Lotos Club on Jan. 22.
