Today’s Theatre Talk

During World War II, stage and film actors hosted military personnel at the East Coast’s Stage Door Canteen and the West Coast’s Hollywood Canteen, offering entertainment to cheer them up and lift their spirits.  David Greenspan’s Wartime Canteen for a New Era plans to do the same, as he and Jamie Lawrence perform in the windows of a brownstone in Boerum Hill to an audience in the street. October 17 and 18 at 11 a.m.
Space is limited to 50 people per showing, so reserve your spot today to find out the exact location in Boerum Hill. Reservations: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pr/1032458

En Garde’s Uncommon Voices gave artists a platform to develop new projects in front of an audience in a 65 seat cafe.  With the advent of COVID-19, Uncommon Voices is now transforming to Uncommon Voices: Unexpected Places, bringing artists to open spaces where audiences can gather safely. We’re returning to our site-specific roots, using the city as our stage. In coordination with the city permitting office, we are making these public events free. We hope you will consider a donation to En Garde Arts to support our company and the artists we treasure. www.engardearts.org
