TONY DANZA (4X Emmy Nominee, famous TV star of TAXI and WHO’S THE BOSS? will star in Scott Siegel’s BROADWAY BY THE SEASON on August 7th at 8 PM at Merkin Hall (129 West 67 St. NYC). Danza will headline a stellar cast that includes 2X Tony Nominee CHRISTIANE NOLL (Jekyll & Hyde), 2X Drama Desk Nominee JULIA MURNEY (Wicked), DANNY GARDNER (Dames at Sea), ALI EWOLDT (The Phantom of the Opera), DOUGLAS LADNIER (Jekyll & Hyde), Drama Desk Nominee JASON GRAAE (Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah), KENDRICK JONES (Shuffle Along), BILL DAUGHERTY (half of the famous team of Daugherty & Field), and more, including the Broadway by the Season Dance Troupe!
In this special concert event, Act 1 will feature Broadway hits of the 1940-41 season, while Act 2 will feature hit songs from the 1951-52 season, giving the audience the chance to see how Broadway music changed from one era to the next. You’ll hear songs from Pal Joey to Paint Your Wagon, and from Louisiana Purchase to Bagels & Yox.
Broadway by the Season is produced, directed, written and hosted by Scott Siegel. This series by Siegel at Merkin Hall marks a new departure for the NY impresario who has created more than 500 major concert events around the world. “In this state-of-the-art concert hall, that seats 450 people,” said Siegel, “we can have the best of both worlds, bringing in stars of the magnitude of Tony Danza while still keeping the experience wonderfully intimate.”
