Lauded as one of the great jazz artists of our time, British-American actress Annie Ross, passed away at age 89 in her home in New York City from emphysema and heart disease. She was an icon to many in the industry and you will probably remember her in The Wicker Man and Superman III.
She recorded throughout her career as a solo artist and was known for her jazz recordings with Dave Lambert and Jon Hendrick. She wrote the vocalese to the iconic song “Twisted” at the age of 22.
