The Vineyard Theatre Gala took place at the Edison Ballroom on May 6 to honor one of its own – Colman Domingo (Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk and Drama League Award Nominee) who made history when he was seen in Kander & Ebb’s final collaboration The Scottsboro Boys. He then premiered his one man show A Boy and His Soul at the Vineyard Theatre.
The roster of celebs coming out in celebration included Brandon Victor Dixon (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Scottsboro Boys), Ariana DeBose (Summer), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Oklahoma!), Forrest McClendon (The Scottsboro Boys), Alex Newell (Once On This Island), Susan Stroman, Sharon Washington (The Scottsboro Boys), Daniel J. Watts (Hamilton), Christian Dante White (Hello Dolly!), cast members from Avenue Q.
The entertainment was directed by Robert O’Hara (Slave Play) and Macy Schmidt served as musical director.
